Every neighbor on my street owns books
Books are literally everywhere. Just think about it, no matter where you and I live, we are surrounded by thousands upon thousands of good books just within a few blocks' radius! Every neighbor on my street owns books, many of which sleep quietly on bookshelves. In reality, we cover a lot more distance in a week than a few blocks, wether it's to get to work, go to school, to visit family, to travel etc. And if we include all the people we know, then we extend our reach to vast distances, this means millions of free books within our reach!
Collectively, citizens own more books than all the libraries in the world put together! That alone tells us two things:
The first one is that no matter who we are books are important to us, for without them modern society would not exist; so we all need to get our hands on books.
The second one is that, together, we are exceedingly rich in books of all kinds and for all tastes.
A tiny part of that immense collective wealth is what we, at bookazam, would like to convince every citizen to happily share with others.
If we, as ordinary citizens, give a few books to our community we can enrich thousands of lives. We would be surprised how many of our fellow neighbors , friends, co-workers etc. would enjoy getting their hands on free books if they knew those books were available.
All this free wealth around us means that we can get our hands on books we want, at no cost, for the rest of our lives! There will always be the need, from time to time, to buy new books, but if every citizen brings his or her small contribution, most of the titles we want will be available for free in our own living area! top
A place to meet offline!
Bookazam is a great network to make new friends offline! Bookazam gives you the opportunity to meet people from your own community. In fact, here at bookazam meeting new people in the real world comes naturally since books you order for free will be found and picked up in your community/region, so it's a great opportunity to meet participants in person and make new friends right where you live! The more books you order the more people you meet! We trust everyone will follow guidelines to make every encounter as safe and fun as possible (offline meeting tips). top
Bookazam for schools
What better way to give and receive free books than from your fellow students! If textbooks are passed along within schools of a given area, there is less need to buy new books, helping families save big money. For instance, grade 6 students could add their books to the network for the benefit of those in grade 5, and those in grade 5 could do the same for those in grade 4 and so on. It works at all school levels. Students can also inject regular books in the network for their fellow citizens to enjoy. top
**Good books**
Here at bookazam, we welcome any book in any language. In fact we encourage every citizen, not just book lovers, to add as many different titles as possible to build an unprecedented choice of free books in all languages right were you live!
Some books are easy to give away, but good books are more difficult to part from, we understand that.
Offering a few good books?? Why not ! We are not referring here to books we hold dear, but books we're not sure we would like to add to the network, books we hesitate to share for different reasons. If we think about it, it's precisely by throwing in a few of those good books that we create a whole new cultural wealth.
Good books for free? YES ! That would certainly be a first for the kind of world we live in where everything has a price but, with every participant's generosity and a little dose of courage from everyone, we can be pioneers in creating new wealth.

Special books (for viewing only)
We invite citizens to list books they hold dear in our 'special books' category! Those books can't be ordered but we can tell the whole world why those books are so special to us. We all have at least one 'special book' story. Let us share with others the names of our favorite author(s). We encourage every citizen to write a short story/description for every book they add to the network by using the text box from the add your book page. top
Unique wealth
What we set out to do may take a while but we are prepared to run the distance, that's why we need your help today. We want to build a unique kind of social wealth that can be found everywhere in the world. This project will demand patience in the beginning but as more citizens like us get involved and spread the word the more wealth will be created. top
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts
This new wealth, as a whole, will have a far greater impact on its communities than the sum of the individual contributions that helped to build it. Together, citizens who participate create awerness about the immense collective wealth the printed word represents and offer the whole world an entirely new way to share it. top
